Ryushique R. Bonner, CNR SNR '09, GS '11

Ryushique R. Bonner was born in Bronx, NY. She attended the New York City public school system throughout elementary and middle school and later graduated from Monsignor Scanlan High school located in the Bronx.  Ryushique found her passion at the College of New Rochelle (CNR).

In 2009, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social sciences. Immediately after, she enrolled in the Master of Education program at CNR, earning her degree in School Counseling in 2011, solidifying her commitment to the field. 

A lifelong learner, Ryushique also completed two certificates at CNR: Advanced Certification in Guidance Counseling (2015) and Advanced Certification in School Building Leadership (2019).

 

As a 16-year urban educator, eager to learn all aspects of education, Ryushique continually moved up the ladder.  She began her career as an assistant teacher, dean, professional school counselor and assistant principal. Over time she continued to work and grow in her career.  She has completed leadership programs on the building and district level as well as being in the Principal Candidate Pool.  

 

Ryushique became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, incorporated in 2013, and has been a member of 3 chapters since her induction. She has proudly served as the Centennial Chapter President as well as Vice President and Committee Chairs of her local chapter. Additionally, she has been a volunteer with the March of Dimes, St. Jude’s, Red Cross and many more.

 

Driven by her dedication to college admissions counseling, Ryushique is the proud Founder/CEO of Trailblazing College Minds, LLC. She also serves as a Professional School Counselor with Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland.  Currently, Ryushique is pursuing a doctorate in Education Leadership at Bowie State University. Her anticipated completion is May 2027. 

 

Ryushique believes that things may not happen when you want them to, but God provides when the time is right! She resides in Maryland with her 3 children, who she refers to as her heartbeats as well as their dog.
