Justin Gerrish '06: Celebrating a High Note Among Mercy's Music Production Alumni
Justin is a Mixer/Producer/Engineer and Audiophile with over 15 years of experience. He began his career at world- renowned Avatar Studios (now Power Station). While at Avatar he had the opportunity to work along side some of the industries leading Producers/Engineers, including Rich Costey, Butch Vig, David Khan, Joe Barresi, Joe Chiccarelli and Russ Elevado, to name a few. After leaving Avatar he opened his own studio in Brooklyn, NY equipped with a 48 channel Otari Concept Elite Plus Console geared towards helping indie bands stay within their budgets but achieving the best sonic quality possible. Some of his notable credits include the Grammy winning Vampire Weekend album "Modern Vampires of the City", The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Weezer, Mark Ronson, Ra Ra Riot, Taking Back Sunday, Muse, Brand New, Motion City Soundtrack, Fall Out Boy, John Mayer, Kid Cudi, Best Coast, Harry Conick Jr., Glasvegas, Daniel Merriweather, Katie Herzig, Rubblebucket, The Subways, Dap Kings, D’Angelo, Walter Becker, Herbie Hancock, Steve Lillywhite, Dr. Dog, Bon Jovi, and more. Currently Justin works as the Audio Lead for Equinox Media’s Digital App, Equinox+, where he develops and oversees all audio recording, mixing and production processes.
