“Sad news about our alum.
I just said to someone the other day, ‘You can take us out of CNR, but you can't take CNR out of us.’ Let us all remain in contact, stay safe and well and NEVER forget our beloved CNR.”

- Kathy Reilly, MS, RN, CEN GSN ‘87
Graduate of the 1st graduating class of the School of Nursing Graduate Program (1987)

“I didn't know Maria Mercader but I received a communication from my high school, Dominican Academy, to pray for her. Yesterday I was notified of her passing and when I read the tribute, I was surprised to learn that she was also a CNR grad. There are 4 DA /CNR girls from the class of '74. Acknowledging unique bonds seems important.”

“I invited a new person in our little church gathering over for tea. Chitchatting, we finally hit on Catholic schooling. She had gone to elementary and high school with nuns. ‘Oh,’ I said, ‘I just went to a Catholic women's college.’ Upon hearing my response, Chris Frasca just stared. She too had gone to CNR Class of '70, a dayhop from Pelham Manor. Italian and small, she reminded me of Mother Mary Russo. And then, we were looking at my yearbook in Chapel Hill, NC.

A prayer to share. “Although it is long, it is a comfort to say in a time of fear.”

“Thank you…I'm proud to have graduated in the same class of ’72 with Eileen!

First, I ask for prayers for my friend Lisa and her family. She and her sister were visiting their parents in Manhattan when they became ill and both died from COVID-19. Lisa and her sister currently await their test results. At this point Lisa's husband and son can only comfort them long distance from California.

Second, I found this prayer for all of us in my church bulletin some weeks ago. I hum it to the tune of the hymn Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing: ‘Take our hand and guide our footsteps, 'til our skies are clear again.’"
Love,

- Cathie Sheehan Kentfield SAS '72
