Ashley M. Scott, M.B.A. '17 Recognized as Forbes Under 30 Scholar

Ashley M. Scott, M.B.A. `17, data analyst at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, has been recognized by Forbes as a Forbes Under 30 Scholar. This honor grants Scott an exclusive pass to Forbes’ signature Under 30 Summit, a defining event for entrepreneurs, where she will have the chance to network with investors, cultural icons, policymakers and more, and hear from inspiring speakers such as Serena Williams.

The Forbes Under 30 Scholar Program awards high performing college students and recent graduates under 30 who have majored in computer science, technology and business admittance to the flagship summit. Only 1,000 are selected to participate across the country and this year’s event is being held in Detroit. The summit focus is diversity and inclusion, and the attending students are from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds.

The importance of promoting diversity in technology is important to Ashley. “It helps foster creativity and offers a different perspective to problem-solving and new ideas.” Fewer than 1 in 5 computer science graduates are women, and Scott believes, “Diversity can give people and jobs the chance to play on others' strengths by sharing different experiences and contributing more ideas to support an innovative, data-driven world.”

Scott completed her Master of Business Administration at Mercy College in Managerial Analytics and graduated among the top of her class as a Delta Mu Delta scholar. While at Mercy, she worked in the School of Business as a graduate assistant and interned at Mercy’s Strategic Consulting Institute led by Dr. Raymond Manganelli.
